API Terms of Use

Welcome to the Kundli.Click Developer Portal. By generating an API key and consuming our endpoints, you and the business entity you represent agree to be strictly bound by the following 30 terms and conditions. Failure to comply will result in immediate termination of access.

1. Access, Authentication & Core Restrictions

1. API Key Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for securing your API keys. Keys must never be hardcoded in public repositories or exposed to unauthorized third parties.
2. No Client-Side Exposure: The API cannot be used via promise or exposed directly on the client-side (frontend JavaScript, AJAX, or browser requests). All requests must be routed securely through your backend server to protect API credentials.
3. No AI/MCP Server Usage: The API cannot be used as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for any AI bot, Large Language Model (LLM), or automated conversational agent without an explicit Enterprise AI License.
4. No Reselling: You may not act as a reseller, proxy, or wrapper for the Kundli.Click API. The data must add value to your own application's end-user experience.
5. Single Domain & Brand Restriction: One API account subscription is strictly licensed for use on a single registered website and its identically branded mobile application. Using the API on multiple domains, different brands, or websites other than the one declared at the time of registration will result in immediate account suspension and permanent forfeiture of all remaining validity and credits.

2. Usage Limits, FUP & Penalties

6. Strict Fair Usage Policy (FUP): All API plans are subject to a strict Fair Usage Policy to prevent server degradation.
7. FUP Violation Penalty: You cannot exceed the FUP. If your account exceeds the allowed limits or attempts to bypass rate limits, your account will be instantly banned, and all remaining plan validity and credits will be permanently forfeited.
8. Rate Limiting: You must respect the concurrency and requests-per-second (RPS) limits assigned to your tier. Automated rapid-fire bursts designed to stress-test the API are forbidden.
9. No IP Rotation for Evasion: Using rotating proxies, botnets, or distributed IPs to bypass tier-based rate limits is considered a severe violation.
10. Endpoint Abuse: Pinging endpoints excessively with invalid or repetitive data (e.g., repeatedly requesting the exact same birth chart within milliseconds) will trigger automated abuse blocks.

3. Data Caching & Storage

11. Caching Permitted: You are encouraged to temporarily cache API responses (e.g., daily Panchang data) for up to 24 hours to reduce unnecessary API calls.
12. No Database Cloning: You may not systematically query the API to scrape, copy, or build a localized competing database of astrological planetary positions, ephemeris data, or remedy logic.
13. Temporary Storage Only: User-specific Kundli charts and astrological calculations generated via the API should only be stored as long as necessary to serve your active users.
14. Data Integrity: You may not alter, misrepresent, or manipulate the mathematical outputs (degrees, dignities, dashas) provided by the API and present them as Kundli.Click calculations.
15. Attribution Requirement: If you are on the Free Basic Plan tier, you must display a visible "Powered by Kundli.Click" badge or text link near the rendered data. White-labeling is reserved for Startup/Premium/Enterprise plans.

4. Acceptable Application Types

16. Permitted Applications: The API may be integrated into legitimate astrology apps, matrimonial portals, CRM systems, and personal blogs.
17. Prohibited Applications: You may not use the API in applications associated with gambling, black magic (Vashikaran), hate speech, explicit content, or illegal activities.
18. No Spam Generation: The API must not be used to mass-generate unsolicited astrological reports for spam email marketing or SMS blasting.
19. Regulatory Compliance: Your application must comply with local data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, DPDP Act) regarding the collection of your users' birth data (DOB, TOB, POB).
20. Brand Infringement: You may not use the Kundli.Click logo, brand name, or UI assets to suggest official partnership or endorsement without written consent.

5. Billing, Subscriptions & Credits

21. No Prorated Refunds: API subscriptions are billed in advance. All payments are final, and we do not offer prorated refunds for partially used months.
22. Credit Expiration: API credits allocated to monthly plans expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not roll over to the next month.
23. Overage Charges: If enabled on your account, requests exceeding your tier limit will be billed as overages at the rate specified in your dashboard.
24. Chargeback Policy: Initiating an unjustified chargeback or payment dispute will result in a permanent ban of your developer account and domain.
25. Pricing Changes: Kundli.Click reserves the right to modify API pricing tiers with a 30-day notice provided via email or dashboard notification.

6. Disclaimers, SLA & Liability

26. Authenticity & Precision: Our API delivers high-fidelity, arcsecond-precision astronomical calculations paired with highly authentic predictions rooted directly in the BPHS (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra) and other revered ancient Indian astrological texts. While our mathematical and scriptural foundation is exact, astrological interpretation serves as probabilistic life guidance; therefore, we do not legally guarantee the occurrence of specific future events.
27. No Liability for End-User Decisions: We are strictly not liable for any financial, medical, marital, or personal decisions made by your application's end-users based on our API data.
28. SLA Limitations: While we strive for 99.9% uptime, API access is provided "as-is" without warranty, unless you are subscribed to a Custom Enterprise plan with an explicit SLA contract.
29. Endpoint Deprecation: We may update or deprecate API versions (e.g., moving from v1 to v2). We commit to providing a minimum 90-day transition notice for breaking changes.
30. Indemnification & Termination: You agree to indemnify Kundli.Click against any third-party claims arising from your application. We reserve the right to terminate your API access at our sole discretion, instantly and without notice, for any violation of these terms or The Law of Land in any direct or indirect form.
